Abstract
William Edgar presents a broad picture of the challenges faced by the oil and gas industry as it moves towards deepwater and ultra deepwater production. Considers the trend in global oil and gas production from deepwater reservoirs and the different development options available to the operators. Discusses the different contracting strategies used by the operators to execute the developments and addresses the development costs associated with deepwater production.
